Retro Bars use old-fashioned candy flavors, including Malted Milk, Key Lime Pie, Caramel Apple, PB&J, Raspberry Jam and Salted Pretzel. The inspiration for the retro chocolate flavors came from boardwalk candy stores, local soda shops, and state fairs. Each Retro Bar weighs in at 2.25 ounces and contains a classic crème center smothered in the finest gourmet chocolate. The bars cost $3.00 at retail. Chocolate Bar, who won the 2004 Time Out New York Eat Out Award for “Best Chocolate Store,” describes their retro chocolate flavors: Malted Milk, the soda shop favorite in creamy milk chocolate; Salted Pretzel, tasty bits of salted pretzel in milk chocolate; Caramel Apple, the Chocolate Bar version of the beloved caramel apple on a stick; Key Lime Pie, a slice of key lime pie wrapped in dark chocolate; PB&J, chocolate poured over the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich; Raspberry Jam, two classic schoolyard flavors combined into one perfect bar. Gourmet Garage has multiple locations in the New York City area, including Soho, Greenwich Village, the East Side, and the West Side. Founded in 1981, Gourmet Garage started as a wholesale distribution company servicing New York’s finest restaurants.
